Synarel Spray

Description: Synarel (nafarelin) is a synthetic preparation that is similar to gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) that our body makes. It is indicated for the management of endometriosis (women 18 years and older for not longer than a 6 month time period), including pain relief and reduction of endometriosis lesions.

How It Works: Synarel is administered nasally. Synarel is rapidly absorbed into the systemic circulation after intranasal administration. Synarel acts like GnRH and causes the release of LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle stimulating hormone). However, when administered routinely LH and FSH levels are reduced which inhibits ovulation and stops menstruation. Synarel may be used in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) to prevent ovulation until the follicles (eggs) are mature.

Potential Side Effects: Side effects that may occur include: hot flashes, increased and decreased libido, vaginal dryness, headache, insomnia, acne, breast size reduction, seborrhea, weight gain and loss, mood swings, nasal irritation or runny nose.

If you experience signs of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives; seek emergency medical attention immediately.

PLEASE NOTE: If these or any other side effects occur, contact your physician.

Storage: Synarel should be stored upright at 77ºF; excursions permitted to 59-86ºF. Protect from light.
